WHAT SHOULD STUDENTS DO TO BE SAFE WHEN USING EMAIL AND THE INTERNET?
1. Do not give out any identifying information
2. Do not make a username that you can be identified by 3. Do not give out your password (except to your parents) 4. Use security settings for online profiles. Make sure they are private. 5. Do not open emails from someone you don’t know. 6. Do not connect online with someone you do not know personally 7. Do not illegally download music or movies 8. Do not use language that you would not use when talking with your parents or teachers 9. Do not put something online that you do not want made public. Things you put online will be seen by friends, family, and future employers. 10. Talk with your parents before making arrangements to meet an online friend 11. Report cyber-bullying to an adult.
